As you begin your time at Â鶹´«Ã½, we want to ensure you have all the tools and resources you need to succeed. To help us better support your educational experience, we will conduct post-registration testing in these key areas: literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy.

Why Post-Registration Testing?

These assessments are designed to provide us with a clear understanding of your current skills in these fundamental areas. The results will help us tailor our support services and academic programs to meet your needs better, ensuring you have a strong foundation to build upon throughout your time here.

What to Expect

1. Literacy Test: This assessment will evaluate your reading comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking abilities. Strong literacy skills are essential for success across all disciplines, and this test will help identify areas where additional support may be beneficial.

2. Numeracy Test: This test will measure your ability to understand and work with numbers. Numeracy skills are crucial not only for courses in mathematics and science but also for everyday problem-solving and decision-making.

3. Digital Literacy Test: In today’s digital age, being proficient with technology is more important than ever. This test will assess your ability to use digital tools, navigate the internet, and understand basic computer functions, ensuring you are prepared for the digital demands of your studies and future career. 

Next Steps

There is no need to worry about these assessments. They are not exams and will not affect your grades. Instead, think of them as a way for us to get to know you better and identify how we can best support you.

If you have achieved relevant prior learning through previously completed courses or work and life experience, you may be eligible to apply for credit transfer/credit equivalency.

• Meet Your Â鶹´«Ã½SU: The operates independently of Â鶹´«Ã½ and represents the student voice at each of our six campus locations. • Money Matters: Â鶹´«Ã½ understands that being a student and managing expenses can be a challenging and overwhelming experience. We offer financial support and services to help you access financial resources, create and manage a budget, find part-time work, and provide tips to help you stretch your money further. • Housing in New Brunswick: Canada is currently experiencing a nationwide housing crisis, resulting in a shortage of available rental properties across New Brunswick. As an incoming learner, it is critical that you secure short-term accommodations for the first month of your studies (at minimum) prior to your arrival. • Childcare: We encourage learners with children to explore in your campus community prior to arrival. Â鶹´«Ã½ does not offer childcare services and children are not permitted in classrooms or labs. It is also important to note that children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times while on campus.
